Cialis Raises High Hopes
The second quarter of 2005 seems to have been unexpectedly profitable for ICOS Corp., as its spokespersons claim it. The loss of the pharmaceutical maker diminished to almost half of the loss registered in the second quarter of 2004, a share reaching 35 cents as we speak.
Numbers are more than eloquent to describe the success of Cialis’ co- marketer. In the second quarter of 2004, ICOS Corp. registered $52 million loss, while 2005 meant loosing only $23 million. Moreover, expenses of Bothell laboratories increased to $40 million in the second quarter of 2005 from $34.7million last year in the same time. In the end, Bothell registered total revenue of $18.1 million, which can be translated into a promise of profitability made by Cialis for the near future.
